No7 beautiful skin day cream

This moisturiser is honestly amazing. I got it just last week because I have really bad dry skin but this has made me so much happier with my skin!
I went to boots and they recommended this for me, it is a new range for teenagers, which also has combination cream and night cream etc. It is £13.50 which is more than I'd usually pay but it is worth it in my opinion! You barely have to use any which means it will last ages! Also, it doesn't leave your skin oily which I've had a problem with for some moisturisers. It's fan!

9/11 remembrance

Ok, it's one of those sad times of year the when we remember the tragedy of 9/11. Firstly I would like to say R.I.P to everybody that died because of that and you deserve to still be here, it's not fair. My prayers still go out to friends and family of victims of 9/11 and I hope things are getting better.
The memorial is beautiful and it's lovely that all the victims can be remembered. R.I.P <3

Sally Hansen Nail Varnish Review

Sorry I haven't posted in AGES I've been so addicted to instagram( I mean like seriously addicted). Anyway, I'm doing a review on my new Sally Hansen New Lengths Ceramics nail varnish in the colour porcelain ivory.

It is such a pretty colour when a few coats have been added, but the downside is that you have to put on about 3-4 coats if you are putting it as a base coat instead of a top coat because it's very translucent. It's so light and subtle but at the same time that's what makes it lovely. I would recommend it as it's only cheap and it's very good.

I'm thankful for...

My family. They have always been there for me and I've been through everything with them. They support me no matter what and I know they always will. No matter how much I argue, they still love me like I love them and I know I'm so lucky to have the family I do.

My friends. They cheer me up when I'm down they give me great advice and are always there when I need them. They make me laugh and that's what friends are for.

A home, nice clothes and food. I realise that I'm really lucky to have this because some people in other countries don't have things that we take for granted and I am thankful for it. :) ♥

Personal story

Not really sure what I'm supposed to be posting here but I'll just write a bit of a story about me.
So my name is Emily and I'm a 14 year old living in a little city near Birmingham. I'm starting my GCSEs when I go back to school which is a pretty scary thought and it only feels like a few months ago when I started secondary school, it goes so fast! I like shopping when I can go and meeting up with friends is the best! I like comedy and horror films, so White Chicks has to be one of my fave films.

Yeah... didn't know what to say so I just said a bit about me.

My guilty pleasure

What isn't my guilty pleasure? I love anything that makes me happy to be honest and usually I am easily pleased. I like eating, reading, playing games, watching old Disney Channel shows( if they are on I will watch them), snapchatting and making people smile.

What are your guilty pleasures? Share with me, I'm interested to find out and to see if I'm a normal child or not :L

A day in my life

Hey guys, I'm sorry lots of my recent posts haven't included pictures. It's because I'm having to do it on my phone because I'm busy and I can't choose the order of the pictures on my phone, so I don't want to mess it all up. :)

This is what my lazy days consist of....:
First I wake up (like everyone does) and because it's the holidays I usually get up about 11am.
Then I'll get up and put the kettle on to make my mom and I a mug of coffee.
Next I'll make breakfast and watch tv while eating my breakfast and drinking my coffee.
After about an hour, I will go and have a shower which will last about 20 minutes because long showers are the best and I have no reason to be rushing.
Get out of the shower and get into my jogging bottoms and a comfy t-shirt with fluffy socks and put my hair in a messy bun.
I'd usually be snapchatting on my phone by now and texting, using kik and just scrolling through facebook.
I look on my laptop at different clothes shops such as Topshop and River Island and see the new stuff. I'll have a look at new things to be doing.
I'll watch tv a bit more while on my phone and probably have a bit of a sleep afterwards.
I'll have a little snack like a banana and some crisps, then go on the wii for fun or even the wii fit.
Having dinner will be next.
Watch night time tv.
A movie with my parents.
More snapchat.
Getting ready for bed
Brushing my teeth
SLEEP at about midnight.

Yeah.....pretty boring but hey ho. I wasn't gonna go into tons of detail but yeah, pretty much my lazy days :)

The item is the Topshop 'Sheer Lipstick in Lolly'. And it's only £8! You can tell the great quality of it and the colour is gorgeous! The reviews are great so I would also consider getting it!

What I was wearing today

I'm sorry it's not on me, it's because I only just looked at the challenge and I've already got changed into lounging around clothes. My top is a laced top from Miss Selfridge and was £10 reduced from £16; my jeggings are from River Island, which are navy blue and only £15 or 2 for £25; and my converse were from Schuh and they are American flag ones which were £55.

Favourite Read Of The Week

Definitely, my favourite read of the week is "I'd tell you I love you, but then I'd have to kill you". I couldn't put the book down! I read it while I was on holiday whilst sunbathing. It's so hooking because you want to know what Cammie (the main character) is going to do or say next. I highly recommend this book because it's full of action, however it is mainly for girls I would say. You'd love it, I guarantee.Tell me your favourite books, and I'll have a read of them!

Favourite Rainy Day Movie

HAIRSPRAY

Yes, Hairspray. It's one of my favourite movies anyway, but even better on a rainy day because it's very uplifting and something you can sing and dance along to. It just makes you forget about the rubbish weather and makes you smile. The best part is that there's almost 2 hours of Zac Efron! :)

New Year's Resolution Follow Up

As I posted before, I am doing the August blog challenge, and this is today's post. I'll do three of my New Year's resolutions and how I'm doing with them. :)

1) To be more sociable
This might sound a bit silly, but it was a resolution I was determined to do. Last year I was always on my phone and laptop and talking to people by Facebook or text instead of talking (which I know lots of people do) but I wanted to be different. I was cooped up in my room a lot when I should've been talking to family.
I think I've done well with this, I've made an effort to meet up with friends more and I think I'm happier because of it. This means time with family has been happier too, which is great. So I think I can give this a big .

2) Healthier eating
I have never been the person that loves fruit and veg, I mean I don't hate it but I'd prefer chocolate, fizzy drinks and crisps (like most people I think). So I made a resolution that I would eat as much of it as I could, because almost anything was an improvement to be honest, and if I couldn't manage 5 a day I haven't been too fussed. I've been taking an apple and an orange to school every day and for dinner I have vegetables with the rest of my meal and fruit juice (most days). So I think I can also give this a

3) To be more organised
Anybody that knows me knows that I'm one of the worst organised people ever. I hate being dis-organised because everything is harder to do. If I'm trying to find something I can't remember where I put it. My homework is always done last minute and I forget it occasionally. Although I have slightly improved my organisation, it is still awful in my opinion, so unfortunately i have to give this a

I hope you guys are doing well on your New Year's resolutions, and if you're not sure I think it's a great idea to check your progress so you can improve if needs be. :) thanks for reading guys.

Cute accessories for Summer

I know, so many posts about Summer, but I just wanna be happy and in the Summer mood :)

I think little hair bows are essential, and the vintage ones are especially cute! Different patterns of them complete and pull together an outfit, and makes your hair look fantastic and your hair will be out of your face so it's not so hot.

Feathery or dangly earrings look so nice because certain ones can match an outfit and make it look so cute! The looseness of them gives a relaxed mood, and very flowy.

Bracelets! Little bracelets just add something to the outfit and are very cheap to get too.

Sorry this isn't specific or have lots of information like my other posts, but just a little thing that popped into mind.

Quick tips to keep cool

To keep cool in summer:
1) If you are taking water, fill a quarter the bottle you're using with water. Lay it on its side in the freezer and wait for it to turn into ice. When you fill it with water, you will have cold water on the go without having a big chunk of ice!

2) Don't wear loads of clothing. I'm not saying to go out and wear the tiniest skirt or shorts so it shows your bum and knickers but don't wear tights unless you have a good reason to. Wear cute crop, cami or vest tops because they are little, light and barely any tan line!

3) Maybe get one of the little electric fans to keep you cool, or a handmade one. They are little and simple but very effective.

4) Keep hydrated! I know sweating isn't the most pleasant thing and it's sticky and horrible but it keeps you slightly cooler( and it's better than having a massive headache from dehydration ).

5) Have deodorant or body spray at all times. As well as making you smell nice, it tends to cool you down.

There are some 'quick' tips that will help you. :) thanks for reading

Strawberry Born Lippy - review

This stuff is absolutely fab! I guarantee you'll love it. The smell is so lovely, which is great because as soon as you open it the gorgeous smell is the first thing you notice. When you put it on your lips it is smooth and gives you lovely hydrated lips. It doesn't have a horrible taste and is another great buy from body shop and was once again in the sale..... for £2! Get it or regret it.

In no particular order.....

1) Snapchat- I love it, funny faces to cheer you up and an easy way to speak.

2) Facebook - Just to browse on your phone what's going on and put on pictures straight from your phone.

3) Instagram- Great to share pictures and look at others .

4) Subway Surfers- It's slightly addictive despite the simple game... difficult to put down.

5) Twitter- Stalk your fave celebrities mobile! Tweet your feelings and message people.

6) App of the day- It's a great little app because everyday it gets an app which you would usually have to pay for and you can get it for free for one day only.

7) Blogger- It's great because you can use it for your blog, which I'm doing right now, and keep updated.

8) Keek- Amazing for little videos you want people to see, be as silly as you like.

9) Angry Birds- Everyone loves angry birds , it's addictive to play though.

10) Fruit ninja- Slices our your anger in my opinion......

Summer must haves!

Hey, sorry but there will be no pictures again because I only have time for a quick post today, but I'll do a little list....

1) Crop tops- Aztec, plain, floral or absolutely anything because they are all gorgeous!

2) Topshop shorts: There are the two kinds which are -the shorter ones which are cute and personally look better on holiday but they need to fit properly or else your bum will pop out of them( I've seen this and it's a vulgar sight); and there are the ones which have no buttons and are quite high waisted but they are stunning and I personally think anybody can pull them off!

3) Midi dresses- I adore them! I have a few which I wear all the time, most of the patterns can suit anybody, and it is great that so many people wear them.

4) Light/ bright clothes and shoes- Brighten up summer with light coloured clothing so you fit in with the mood and stay cool, because lighter clothes reflect the heat.

5) Frilly Socks- If you aren't wearing sandals or flip flops and you're wearing converse, Nike blazers etc then frilly socks are the way to go! They are adorable in any outfit.

6) Sunglasses - Get some friends or family to pick out some sunglasses with you because these can be difficult to get some that suit you but if you find the right pair then you'll look so cool!

Thanks for reading, sorry for the lack of pictures lately guys. Follow my instagrams- @emilygreen_22 and @love_teenage_life thanks guys. Have a nice summer and look great! :)

Top 5 summer shops

These are my top 5 summer shops for clothes. These aren't in order because I love them all but they are all great to get your summery clothes.

1) New look- You've gotta love new look. It has such beautiful clothes and has a huge range. The great thing also is that it has the generation 915 part which has similar clothes but even cheaper. There are always plain stuff, but new look keeps up with trends

2) Forever 21- At forever 21 there is an even bigger selection to choose from. You have all sorts to pick from, with all the different styles. You've got hipster, plain, trendy, scene, girly..... so many! The clothes are so bright and bring a great mood to outfits.

3) Topshop- Topshop is amazing! As well as keeping up with the trends it definitely creates trends! There are so many unique clothes at topshop and they are all lovely. I love the outfits you come up with using topshop clothes. People stand out with these clothes and although slightly more expensive, I think it is a good investment because the quality is the best and everyone loves a bit of topshop.

4) River Island- Their clothes are also great! The shorts are great here and they also have a childrens section which I think is great if you are a smaller teenager because you can get the same clothes for up to half the price... bargain.

5) Primark- Yes, primark. I don't care what people say, Primark is great for getting some little clothes. There are little cami tops and shorts and things for everybody there, and it's sooo cheap! Everybody loves a bargain every once in a while. You can't say you haven't got something from Primark, surely? I love it for its cheap little essentials.

So there we have it. It was a longer post than anticipated but I hope you enjoyed it :*

Motorola RAZR i - review

I wanted to so a review on my phone because I don't think many people have got or have heard of this phone.

So the Motorola RAZR i is an android  touchscreen smartphone. I personally have it on the EE network, which I find has really quick internet connection and signal in lots of places.

What I love about the phone is that it is practically all uses via the touchscreen and the screen is really big too. There is plenty of space to play games and to see clearly if you take a picture or browse the internet.

There is a camera at the back which is 8MP and really good quality , but there is also a camera at the front being 0.3MP which is not great, but is useful if you need a quick mirror to see what you look like.

Being the clumsy person I am, I have dropped my phone LOADS of times, but surprisingly unlike my other phones the screen has never cracked.

The only negative about my phone is that if you have lots of apps running at the same time, it can make the whole phone slow down which is really annoying, but this only happens occasionally.

I would highly recommend this phone so take a look at it! My tariff is only £21.50 a month with unlimited texts, 200 minutes and 500mb of internet. ( sorry for the massive post, hope you read to the end!) :)

Passion Fruit Body Butter - Review

So a few days ago I got the 'Passion Fruit Body Butter ' from the Body Shop because it was on sale for £5 instead of £13 and I couldn't be happier about buying it!

Despite only having this a few days, I have been using it a lot because of going out in the hot weather and wanting to smell nice.

The great thing about it is that it stays on all day for me, with the smell staying fresh and strong throughout the day. It hydrates dry skin too! To me it's faultless and it's great being on sale too, so get one.... or lots because it is definitely worth it, trust me! I wouldn't even mind paying £13 for it but £5 is an absolute bargain.

But don't fret if Passion Fruit isn't your kind of smell because ALL of the body butters are on sale for £5. There's Blueberry, Raspberry, Mango and so many more glorious fragrances to choose from. I say get as many as you can while they are still on sale because it's the best buy I've had for beauty products in a while now.

Pre- makeup skin care routine

Hey everybody, I am so sorry I haven't posted in a while I have had lots of revision for French...
Anyway, I thought I would post my skin care routine before I put on my make-up, and I have been doing this for a few weeks and I can already see a difference, which I am so pleased about! I find the products really work for my type of skin - combination as it's dry and oily, so what I use is perfect for my skin.

Step 1:
Wash your face with the Clean&Clear Blackhead clearing Daily Scrub. It costs about £3.50 and is oil free and I personally saw blackheads going in 5 days! Rinse your face with warm water, then exfoliate your face before getting your face clean with cold water to close the pores. Pat face dry with a towel.

Step 2:
Apply Clean&Clear deep cleansing lotion , which costs about £3.00. Get some cotton wool to apply it to your face ( avoiding the eye area). This is great for sensitive skin and fights against spots.

Step 3:
Once your face has dried after putting the lotion on, put on the Freederm. I have prescribed Freederm for my skin, so for me it's free otherwise it is about £9.00 but is worth it! Apply thin layers on your face where your acne is or usually is.

Step 4:
Once the Freederm has dried, apply Clean&Clear Dual action moisturiser to leave your skin smooth but still fighting spots and preventing oily skin.

In a few weeks your skin should be clearing up. I strongly recommend these products if you have my type of acne prone combination skin. Tell me how it goes! :)

2013 summer holiday suggestions.

So this year I think Turkey is the best place to go on holiday during the summer holidays. This is because there are so many places to go there and there will be lots of vacancies with late booking available. It is cheap and cheerful! And the less you or your family spend on the holiday- the more money for clothes and shopping for summer! It's a win-win situation really.

Turkey also has 'fake' brands over there. They make their own 'Jack Wills', 'Hollister','Vans', 'Converse' and more! The quality can be quite good and they are so cheap, and nobody but you will know they're fake...great!

It is hot there too..very hot actually , so make sure you take plenty of sun cream to protect you, but you can get a lovely tan for a great summer look.

Check out some places in Turkey. It's a good place. :)

Stay positive! Love yourself and be happy.

Hi everybody. So I am making this post because lately on Facebook, Twitter and life in general I hear so many people upset with little things about them and putting themselves down. I know that everybody does it ( including me) but seeing other people picking out bad things makes me a bit upset. I think people need to stay focused on the positive things about themselves and others because I know there is beauty and good things in everybody.

Although it is sometimes not easy to do, keep telling yourself the good things about you and never think of the negatives. It's especially difficult when you compare yourself to others - they could be nicer, prettier, more popular or just have something you might want. But you will always have something unique about yourself and be able to say "I love myself because..... I have a nice figure"( for example). There will be plenty of good things about YOU so don't think about anybody else and don't hold back, tell yourself what makes you special.

Even if you don't like things about yourself, it might be hard to understand , but you need to learn to be happy and love yourself. I can't say I love myself yet, but I'm trying to. I'm sure everybody has lovely things to compliment you with, which always cheers anybody up. Don't try to change yourself either, somebody out there loves or will love you for who you are and wouldn't want any different.

Try to smile through everything . Just smile , smile, smile! Also, don't care or listen to what anybody thinks about you if it's mean or negative because odds are they are jealous and have nothing better to do, so just remember that!

I'm sorry this was very wordy and full of content, but it's just something I thought I needed to share because it was on my mind. Hope you enjoyed this , and please take my advice if you agree. Remember - think positive, love yourself and be happy! :)

Clinique Foundation

I love my clinique foundation and would recommend it to anybody who suffers from minor OR major acne. This one in particular is the Clinique anti-blemish solutions liquid foundation which costs £23. This could be considered quite expensive for a foundation, but I would strongly suggest you invest in buying one. Mine has lasted me about 2 ½ months so far and I've only used about half of it. There is 30ml but it goes a long way. The people who work in the clinique section will happily help you choose the right colour and talk it through with you if you ask, and they will put some of it on to show you first.
The thing that is good about this is that it has no oil and is great for spot prone skin because as well as covering them, it will try to keep them away at the same time...great, right? Even better is that you barely need any on, which is why it lasts so long but still makes your skin look fantastic! So there will be no need to worry about your skin if you buy one of these gems! Thanks for reading :)

Hi, so I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, so I decided so do a quick natural make-up tutorial. Although eyeliner isn't considered natural, if you apply it thinly and evenly it won't look tacky and it will bring out your eyes!
This is Clean and Clean Dual Action Moisturiser £2.99

Saffron London Eyeliner £2
Rimmel Glam Eyes £7.99
2True Smooth Matte Pressed Powder £1.99
This is 2True Concealer £1.99
Step 1: Put on a thin layer of moisturiser all over your face, but be careful around the eye area.
Step 2: Add eyeliner thinly and evenly to achieve a more natural look.
Step 3: Use the Volume applicator on your eyes to get nice eyelashes like so
Step 4: Add the concealer to your under eyes like this, then blend in with your finger to hide your dark circles or bags under your eyes. Make sure you don't rub too hard or the concealer will come off, or too lightly so the concealer is really visible.
Step 5: Use the concealer again to cover up spots or blemishes, use the same method used under your eyes but without so much concealer.
Step 6: Use the pressed powder to finish the look. Apply evenly across the face for an extra glow.

Now you're done! It's so quick and easy, and it's perfect for mornings with not much time to spare. You look natural, but still beautiful, a great combination! Possibly add some lip balm, lip smacker or vaseline to make your lips shine as well. Hope you liked my tutorial :)

Teenage Life

We all know it's difficult being a teenager isn't the easiest part of life, growing up seems to happen too fast! Sometimes we find it hard to cope with all of these changes , but there are ways around dealing with all of our problems, worries and feelings in general.
During adolescence you might feel weird about changes, think you aren't normal and worry about things , but you don't want to talk to anybody about it? You may want to ask your friends because they are going through the same as you and this can be a good idea but make sure you can trust them and hopefully they can give good advice. However, I think it's a good idea to ask your parents or guardians( I know it might be a bit awkward) but they have been through it all and can help you. If they are supportive they will help you through and ensure there is nothing to worry about. If you still don't feel comfortable talk to a school nurse because they are confidential and give good advice.
Friends
I speak from a personal point of view here saying that friends can be a difficult thing to deal with sometimes at this point in our lives. I think especially girls because we all gossip from time to time, rumour, fall out over silly little things and just generally cause drama that nobody needs, but we ALL do it! Girls seem to get more emotional more frequently than boys, which could be a factor in the fact that boys have almost no drama compared to girls.

As girls , we definitely have our suspicions about other people and always wonder and worry that people are talking about us behind our backs and that our 'friends' are backstabbing us. How do we know if they are fake or real friends? I think that FAKE friends will tend to try and get gossip out of you to spread rumours and if they know you know something of somebody else or if you're upset, they seem to be more pushy to get information. You can also tell by the way they listen and talk to you. A real friend will listen and give advice where as a fake friend would pretend to care but you could notice them not really listening and looking bored, which nobody likes.
Finally, how to be a happier teenager.( Thought we would end on a lighter note).
1) Treat yourself once in a while! I know you probably have revision to do for exams and assessments but you can't let it take over your whole life! Sometimes revision can be hard and stressful( read one of my previous posts to help with revision) but you need to go shopping or go out with friends, or to the cinema so you can enjoy yourself.
2) Live life how it makes you happy. What might make you happy is lazy days listening to music, which I love too so as long as it makes you happy.... DO IT. But I suggest you don't stay inside all weekend, get some fresh air going out with friends or family!

3) Try not to argue or be upset. I know we get upset a lot and we can find it hard to deal with but to avoid this we need to work out what we don't like and need to stay away from( this could be people if they constantly put you down) . Smile through things, be the bigger person and make everybody love your happy personality.
4) SMILE  AND LAUGH! Laughing and happiness is the best medicine! Have a laugh! Smile and make people know you are happy and a smile is so much better and more attractive than a grumpy face!!!

Hope this helped you and that you liked this article, please recommend it if you know any teens that would probably like this article. Thank you, have a nice day. <3

Think FLORAL

Floral patterns are really in right now so I thought I would show you what items of clothing I have which have floral patterns. I think floral is so adorable and cute and I love them! I would recommend you  wear floral tops with plain bottoms and vice versa because you don't want pattern clashes. You could also wear a denim jacket over or a pastel colour blazer with cute sandals and a little jewellery and nail varnish to finish the look.

•Daisy by Marc Jacobs £45 for 50ml from debenhams
•Lynx attract for her £2.99 from boots
•Reb'l Fleur by Rihanna £25.95 on
www.fragrancedirect.co.uk
•Ted Baker body spray £5 from boots
•Hollister crescent bay £12 or 3 for £24

I love these because they are all fresh smells and not too overpowering. Also, you don't have to spray them much, and I have had all of them for over 6 months( except the lynx).
I mix and match with them because they smell great! I recommend you buying at least one of these!

Revision tips

When a test, assessment or exam is coming up it is sometimes stressful because you feel like you need to constantly revise to guarantee a good mark. However, I think it is worse if you constantly revise and don't allow yourself to do anything else.
To push myself to revise and revise regularly I set myself a target, for example: 15 minutes of revision before I go on my phone; or do 3 paragraphs of writing before I meet up with friends. This way, I push myself so that afterwards I can reward myself and I can feel proud knowing I have done work and I deserve my reward.

Also, you must make sure you are relaxed about it, stressing makes everything worse! I heard on the radio that just 15 minutes of meditation can calm you down and gives you 25% better results in something important(like an exam). (But although it would be weird to meditate at school, meditate at home instead).

Tell your family you are revising and not to disturb you. After worrying anyway, the last thing you want is your family annoying you, so let them know and they should be understanding.

Thank you for reading and I hope you find these tips useful and they work for you.

How to to do sparkly pink tipped nails.

What you will need....
You will need two colour nail polishes that go well together, a nail file and a clear varnish or tinted varnish.

I would recommend....
A nail file
London Girl Nail Polish colour 01- £1.49
Avon Nailwear pro Rose Quartz- £3.99
Colour Trend Nail Polish colour delicious berry- £3.00

Step 1.
File your nails to the size and shape you want. I chose rounded nails for this but you choose what you would prefer.

Step 2.
Apply one or two coats of your chosen base colour and wait until your nails are dry.

Step 3

Add the second chosen nail polish and put on the tips and make sure you follow the way your nail curves. ( round if you have rounded nails or straight if you have square nails).

Step 4.
Add the clear coat or tinted clear coat once your nails are all completely dry.

Pretty Shoes

My mom's Betty Boop comic strip high heels are beautiful! They are so creative and that's why I love them <3
