We all know it's difficult being a teenager isn't the easiest part of life, growing up seems to happen too fast! Sometimes we find it hard to cope with all of these changes , but there are ways around dealing with all of our problems, worries and feelings in general.
During adolescence you might feel weird about changes, think you aren't normal and worry about things , but you don't want to talk to anybody about it? You may want to ask your friends because they are going through the same as you and this can be a good idea but make sure you can trust them and hopefully they can give good advice. However, I think it's a good idea to ask your parents or guardians( I know it might be a bit awkward) but they have been through it all and can help you. If they are supportive they will help you through and ensure there is nothing to worry about. If you still don't feel comfortable talk to a school nurse because they are confidential and give good advice.
Friends
I speak from a personal point of view here saying that friends can be a difficult thing to deal with sometimes at this point in our lives. I think especially girls because we all gossip from time to time, rumour, fall out over silly little things and just generally cause drama that nobody needs, but we ALL do it! Girls seem to get more emotional more frequently than boys, which could be a factor in the fact that boys have almost no drama compared to girls.
As girls , we definitely have our suspicions about other people and always wonder and worry that people are talking about us behind our backs and that our 'friends' are backstabbing us. How do we know if they are fake or real friends? I think that FAKE friends will tend to try and get gossip out of you to spread rumours and if they know you know something of somebody else or if you're upset, they seem to be more pushy to get information. You can also tell by the way they listen and talk to you. A real friend will listen and give advice where as a fake friend would pretend to care but you could notice them not really listening and looking bored, which nobody likes.
Finally, how to be a happier teenager.( Thought we would end on a lighter note).
1) Treat yourself once in a while! I know you probably have revision to do for exams and assessments but you can't let it take over your whole life! Sometimes revision can be hard and stressful( read one of my previous posts to help with revision) but you need to go shopping or go out with friends, or to the cinema so you can enjoy yourself.
2) Live life how it makes you happy. What might make you happy is lazy days listening to music, which I love too so as long as it makes you happy.... DO IT. But I suggest you don't stay inside all weekend, get some fresh air going out with friends or family!
3) Try not to argue or be upset. I know we get upset a lot and we can find it hard to deal with but to avoid this we need to work out what we don't like and need to stay away from( this could be people if they constantly put you down) . Smile through things, be the bigger person and make everybody love your happy personality.
4) SMILE AND LAUGH! Laughing and happiness is the best medicine! Have a laugh! Smile and make people know you are happy and a smile is so much better and more attractive than a grumpy face!!!
